February saw the Oscars in Hollywood and the first Teerenpeli Tease of the year in Tampere.
So with that in mind lets take a look at the nominations for the Golden Tassels in Teerenpeli Tease – At the Movies.
Introducing the nominations was the ever funny stand up comedian Olli Siiki, his stand up routine was received with great laughs and applause.
Assisting Olli by keeping everything clean and tidy and well organised was the lovely Ginger Nihil, who did a terrific job.
This year see James Bond celebrating 50 years on the big screen, so what better way to join in with those celebrations than with our first nomination, the wonderful Cherry-Turbo-Cherry-Dee, and a nice Martini (shaken and not stirred). Cherry sure knows how to shake a perfect Martini, with moves that are as beautiful as she is.
The next nomination was Olivia Rouge with her adaptation of Edward Scissor Hands, for those who have never seen this routine all I can say is you are missing out on a truly spectacular number. Olivia’s brilliance really comes through, and she is as stunning as ever.
There have been 5 films made for The Fly, the 1958 original and 2 sequels, and a remake of the original in 1986 plus a sequel. However The Human Fly is a Super Hero from Spider-Man.
Tinker Bell delighted us with elegant moves that make Spider-Man look like he is walking in mud as she showed Hollywood just how the new Human Fly movie should look, of more importantly who they should have cast in the role.
Proving that the difference between Twilight and True Blood, is that in True Blood Lafayette is the only thing that glitters, was the new vampyress Sea Breeze. This routine is full of energy and passion, and was well executed, you would not have known it was her first solo performance.
Expertly representing musicals was the Prince of boylesque Bent Van Der Bleu with his tribute to Rocky Horror Picture Show. Bent always puts 110% into all of his performances, and this was no exception. This young man knows his craft and delivers it with every ounce of passion he has.
Our final nominee’s of the evening were the combined talents of Tinker Bell and Cherry-Turbo-Cherry-Dee as The Ravishing Shangri-la Rubies. This routine reminded me of the 1930’s and 40’s Speak easy gangster movies, and could easily have featured Eliot Ness. Once again we was treated to a performance that was both entertaining and professional.
So to the winners, and the winners of the Golden Tassels are…….The audience at Teerenpeli Tease, for an unforgettable evening of Burlesque by such wonderful performers.
