Tunne Tampere Turns up the Temperature

May 18th found me juggling a busy schedule so that I could make it to Hämeenpuisto in Tampere for an early evening of Burlesque in the park.
Although we had not long ago had the sinsational spring awakening, the weather was still not the best for an outdoors event, there was sunshine, but there was also clouds, some of them containing rain that threatened to let go of their contents at any moment, but thankfully apart from one small shower that only lasted a very short time, it was to stay dry, there was a chill in the air, and it certainly was not the warmest of days, but the temperature was to get higher, not because of the weather, but because of the performers.
DJ Mr Willy provided the music for the shows, and did his professional best for all involved.
Our host was not introduced to us, so I am unable to pass that information on, it was clear he was not used to hosting, but he did the best he could, and for what I am guessing was his first time, he did an adequate job.
Cherrie A Dorable opened the show with her ever so sweet candyland number, instantly warming us all, and raising the park temperature a few degrees.
Next we was treated to Lafayette Lestrange and his rather tricky reverse burlesque, this is not as easy as he makes it look.
this lead us nicely into the next performer Marie la Mint as the secretary most likely to get a pay rise.
Lafayette and Marie go to make up two thirds of Finnish Blonde Burlesque Troupe, and we would see Marie again later with Mimi, the third member of the Troupe .
Now however it was the turn of Olivia Rouge with her cupcake cutie, a sweet treat that is a total delight, and made us forget about any thoughts of the rain that was gently falling at this time, but was soon to stop and never bothered our enjoyment of this wonderful performance.
We now had a short break which gave us a chance to get refreshments from one of the many refreshment stalls that had been set up for the event that was taking place in Tampere, and that this burlesque show was a part of.
Refreshed it was time to continue with the always lovely Mimi de Froufrou and Marie la Mint, the cleaning ladies with their own special brand of cleaning.
Closing the show was Holy Curves, and they went all out with the fabulous Luminous Fan Dance, to use their own words “This gorgeous number takes you back to the golden ages of burlesque and is filled with glamour, sparkles and pure beauty.” I could not say any better myself, so did not even try.
The pick up was done by Sea Breeze who was making her début on the stage.
The venue being situated as it was in the open air of the park meant that there was to be many people who had never witnessed burlesque before. they had a splendid first time experience as the performers put on an excellent show, it was however unfortunate that no matter how hard we tried we were unable to get the crowd to applaud and cheer in the right places, but looking around me I could see that they were enjoying the experience.
